My Mimi: An Ordinary Woman with an Extraordinary Outlook

My grandma, who we call Mimi, is one of the most incredible women. Every person she encounters falls head over heels for her optimism and graceful presence. She lost her husband (our grandpa), Papa Walt, about 3 years ago to lung cancer. I put that quote on the front of the postcard because it absolutely is definitive of the kind of love her and Papa Walt had, and still have. She talks about him everyday, "talks to him" everyday. To some that may sound crazy. But that's just how in love they were...to her, he's still very much a part of her life. He is her, and it's been really hard to watch her try to acclimate to life without him. Her and Papa's kind of love is the kind of love I think everyone should experience in their life. She's been through a lot, and keeps her head up through it all. She's the matriarch of a family of 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She's a beautiful, beautiful woman. Mimi is who I look up to and who I aspire to be.
