Donating to Hurricane Katrina
By Leah, Age 13
This summer, as part of the Jewish community, I became a Bat-Mitzvah. This was a very moving experience and I decided that I wanted to share my happiness with other, less fortunate, people. I thought about what was going on in the world and I decided that I should donate to Hurricane Katrina. I donated $150 from the checks I for as gifts. My grandparents decided to match that amount, so it turned into $300. On of my dad’s co-workers said that he would match anybody’s donation, so it turned into $600. Since my dad made the donation through the company, they matched it as well. My donation that started at $150 turned into a $1200 donation! I donated the money to two hurricane relief groups, the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. I feel so good that I made a difference and helped people that were having trouble. I hope many people are inspired by my actions and will also make a donation. It doesn’t matter how much money people donate, every cent counts.

When it comes to the name of Charity work and relief programs, then we don't have to think about any specific religion becuase there is another thing which is above religion is Humanity. We always taught by our teachers at Headway University that help every one and don't think about any specific religion, color, race or language.
